This chocolate banana milkshake is thick, sweet, and vegan. It’s perfect as a quick dessert that's ready in about 5 minutes!
Ingredients
*Quantities and full instructions can be found in the recipe box at the bottom of this post.
Here is everything you will need to make this banana chocolate milkshake:
- Frozen bananas: Using frozen bananas will make your milkshake thick and smooth.
- Cocoa powder: For that chocolatey flavor.
- Maple syrup: To add sweetness.
- Vanilla extract: This adds some more flavor to your shake.
- Oat milk: This is used to blend your milkshake. You could also use any other type of milk that you enjoy.
How to make
You will need to freeze your bananas first if you don’t have any pre-frozen.
Then, you just need to add all of the milkshake ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
Tips
If you make a lot of smoothies with bananas, I suggest pre-freezing some bananas so they are always ready to go. Peel and cut your bananas in half before freezing them. Make sure you separate layers of banana halves with parchment paper so that they don't stick together.
If your blender isn't very powerful, you may need to add a bit more milk to get your milkshake blended. Make sure you don't add too much though, or your milkshake will end up being too thin.
Adjust the maple syrup and cocoa powder to your taste preferences if desired.
Toppings
Top your chocolate banana milkshake with vegan whipped cream if desired. I like using a coconut whipped cream.
You can also add shaved vegan chocolate, chopped nuts, fruit, or anything else you’d like on your chocolate banana milkshake.
