Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert Hummus

This dessert hummus is a delicious chocolate peanut butter hummus that is perfect as a healthy plant-based fruit dip.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned chickpeas (540 mL can)
  • ¼ cup cacao powder
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons plant milk (almond or oat)*
  • ¼ cup all-natural peanut butter

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until fully incorporated. Add more than 2 tablespoons of plant milk if you want your dessert hummus to be thinner. It will thicken even more upon cooling in the fridge.

Notes

Makes approximately 1 ¼ cups of dessert hummus.
*I find almond milk and oat milk to be the best choices for plant-based milk in this recipe. Coconut milk may add a strong coconut flavour.
I like my hummus to be quite thick. If you want it to be thinner, add some more plant milk.
